WALK TO CARE, WALK TO CURE.
Cancer is a part of life for many in our community. About one out of every 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. More generally, cancer touches two out of every five lives, and it is the leading cause of death in people under the age of 85.
The RiverWalk along with two other ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer has been organized to help change these statistics. In 2009, the three walks attracted over 8,100 participants who helped raise over $400,000 to benefit cancer research, education, supportive services and more — available right here in Waukesha County.
You can be part of making a difference for your co-workers, neighbors, friends and family by participating in the RiverWalk. When you walk, you are literally taking steps to finish cancer through local research and treatment.
Where you walk is where your money stays.
While concern about cancer is universal, the ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer and the RiverWalk are strictly local. The RiverWalk as well as the ParkWalk for Cancer and the LakeWalk for Cancer benefit local cancer related services. The RiverWalk is our walk and the money raised here stays here to benefit patients at ProHealth Care’s Center for Breast Care.
Your participation, along with pledges you raise and the support of our sponsors, allows the Center for Breast Care to offer the very best breast care available in the world. This year’s proceeds will make it possible to advance clinical research, support high risk/genetic services, increase awareness of early detection and provide supportive care to breast cancer patients. The RiverWalk will also support the addition of leading-edge technology aimed at ever-improving early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Key Details
Registration for the RiverWalk for Breast Cancer is $15 until Wednesday, March 17.
After this date, the fee increases to $18 until April 29. After April 29, on-line registration is no longer available. On-site registration for the RiverWalk for Breast Cancer is $20.
The registration fee is not a donation.
100% of donations given above the registration fee support breast cancer research, education, supportive programs and more.
Distance
The RiverWalk for Breast Cancer follows the path around Frame Park in Waukesha. Once around the path is 1.7 miles - although many participants take 2 or even 3 laps.
We also offer an extended route for the RiverWalk for Breast Cancer! Continue your walk from Frame Park along the Fox River towards downtown Waukesha for an additional 1.1 miles.
By City Ordinance, dogs are not allowed in Frame Park.
Parking is available in the South Street Parking Ramp, corner of South St. and Gaspar, as well as around Frame Park. Again this year, we will be using the Waukesha County Courthouse for parking, with a shuttle service that will provide riders with transportation between the courthouse and Frame Park.
Raffle tickets will only be sold on Saturday, May 1, 2010. This year's top prize is the use of a Brewer's Luxury box. For more information, see link to 2010 Raffle Ticket Information on left-hand side menu.

Top Two Fundraising Individuals
The top two individuals raising the
most money will receive a season of lawn cutting, courtesy of U.S. Lawns of Waukesha ($1,800 value), OR a one-year individual membership to West Wood
Health & Fitness Center ($1,000 value), compliments of West Wood. Some restrictions apply. Top individual fundraiser will be given first choice.
